STATE SUPPORT FOR VOCATIONAL TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT

On July 25, 2024, a meeting was held at the Kırıkkale Chamber of Commerce and Industry Conference Hall, organized in collaboration with the İŞKUR Provincial Directorate, the Provincial Directorate of Industry and Technology, the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, the Provincial Directorate of Trade, the KOSGEB Provincial Directorate, and the SGK Provincial Directorate. The meeting focused on discussing women's employment and entrepreneurship, the root causes of unemployment, and solution proposals, as well as introducing state support for employment.

The meeting was initiated by a welcoming speech from the Board President Ahmet Varlı, addressing the protocol and Chamber members. President Varlı highlighted the issue of a shortage of intermediate employees across various sectors. He noted that despite offering free courses in CNC Turning, Electric Arc Welding, Gas Shielded Welding, and Argon Welding at the Chamber's Vocational Training Center, along with certification for Vocational Qualification Certificates upon course completion, there was still a lack of trainees. He hoped that the meeting would help promote and find solutions for this problem through the incentive and projects of the participating institutions.

During the meeting with stakeholders and Chamber members:

İŞKUR Provincial Director Ferhat Metin and İŞKUR Branch Manager Hüseyin Baysal provided information on vocational training courses conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education, aimed at training qualified workforce. They discussed the programs designed to equip individuals with or improve their existing skills to enhance employability, as well as the on-the-job training programs.
Provincial Director of Industry and Technology Okan Şahin and Yusuf Dede Urhan shared data on the Industrial Registry across Turkey and in the province, emphasizing the importance of the Industrial Registry.
Provincial Director of Family and Social Services Çiğdem Açıkyıldız Kazel and the Violence Prevention and Monitoring Center Director Selda Ergörün discussed their projects and services, including a project aimed at increasing women's economic participation and employment, in accordance with the protocol between the Ministry of Family and Social Services and the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
Provincial Trade Director Mehmet Demir provided information about support for women’s cooperative initiatives and the assistance offered to women cooperatives.
KOSGEB Expert Ömür Gümüşsoy presented on general entrepreneurship and advanced entrepreneurship training, entrepreneur support programs, and business development support.
SGK Provincial Director Hüseyin Akturan offered general information on the number of workers and retirees in the province, discussed measures to combat informal employment, and announced plans for inspections to address any deficiencies by the end of the year.
