Skilled Workforce Training Program (NIYEP)

At the meeting hall of our Chamber, the Cooperation Protocol for the Skilled Workforce Training Program (NIYEP), signed between the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR), was introduced to participants.

The program aims to increase employment and enhance the professional skills of job seekers by providing vocational training courses designed to equip individuals with the qualifications needed in the labor market.

During the presentation, participants were informed about NIYEP’s objectives, program stages, eligibility criteria for courses, application process, employment obligations, course durations, expenses covered under the program, employer contributions, and overall program benefits.

Key details of the protocol include:

Course participants receive a daily mandatory expense allowance based on actual attendance: 850.18 TL for job-seeking participants and 425.09 TL for those receiving unemployment benefits.
Under the “Women’s Hand in Every Profession Project,” which promotes women’s employment and labor force participation, female participants in eligible courses receive 1,105.23 TL daily if job-seeking, and 552.62 TL if receiving unemployment benefits.
During the course, participants’ general health insurance and work accident & occupational disease insurance premiums are covered by İŞKUR.
Training is delivered in two stages: theoretical and practical. Upon course completion, participants may be employed in requesting companies for a period of 120 to 240 days, depending on the course duration.

Our Chairman, Ahmet Varlı, emphasized that vocational qualification certificates, now mandatory in many sectors, are provided through the Kırıkkale Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also highlighted the Chamber’s Vocational Training Center, where free courses in CNC Turning, Electric Arc Welding, Gas and Argon Welding are offered, using state-of-the-art machinery and equipment.

Chairman Varlı noted the widespread challenge of finding qualified personnel in all sectors and expressed hope that programs and initiatives such as NIYEP, promoted through institutions like the Chamber, will help address this issue effectively.
